GIRL FOUND IN RECYCLING BIN
by Gwen,Maya, Trevor,and Johnny

Last Monday around 10 P.M. Autumn,a new jersey girl was found in a recycling bin. Autumn was last seen peddling her BMX bike to a friends house and she was declared missing. Monday,21 2012 when she was found stuffed into a recycling bin, dead. Some people blame their neighbors, 2 teens that like stealing bikes.

16 year old Na'emm Williams, who described himself as a close friend of the brothers said he knew the brothers to take bikes, but thought it was a leap for them to kill someone. Authority's say the younger boy lured Autumn to there home promising to trade bike parts. The prosecutors said she expects her office to attempt to try the brothers as adults. We can learn from this experience by never accepting invites to places you do not know by strangers. Her funeral is October 27, 2012.

Obama's Polish Mistake

by David Campbell

This is about the recent speech Obama made, honoring a polish war hero for his bravery in WWII. But he misspoke and said that he found out the information at a "Polish Death Camp". He said that as if there were no Nazis responsible. The White House came to his aid though, and said that it was a mistake. The foreign minister wrote a letter to the White House, hoping that that will prevent future mistakes. This was one awkward mistake!

Solar and Lunar Eclipse

What are the Differences between Solar and Lunar Eclipse?
By: Henry Lam
There was a solar eclipse on May 20. It was the first annular eclipse in 18 years. It was visible in eastern Asia and Northern Pacific. You may wonder what the difference between solar and lunar eclipse are. Well, they are sort of similar. A solar eclipse can only occur at new moon and lunar eclipse occurs only at full moon. Solar eclipses last for about 7 minutes 40 seconds and lunar eclipses last for about 1 hour 40 minutes. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun and a lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon.  A solar eclipse happens when the shadow of the Moon is cast on the Earth and a lunar eclipse happens when the shadow of the Earth is cast on the Moon.

Titanoaba The Monster Snake

The Titanoaba is a monster snake that lived over 58 million years ago. The Titanoaba lived in Cerrejon, a swampy immense jungle with plenty of humidity and water. The Titanoaba is now holding the place for the largest snake discovered. Sadly the Titanoaba is not alive, researchers don't know if this giant snake was part of a whole species of giant snakes. It will be hard to find out, because snake fossils decay very quickly. One hypothesis though is that the Titanoaba was just maybe 3 times the size of a regular python and the size was added on to the abundance of food and the great climate for it to thrive in.

3 New Species Found!!!

a millipede with a common name of wandering leg sausage
Millipede the size of a sausage.
By: Bryce Yeager, Riley Ryan, Timothy Kwan.
3 new species were found(on left). The animals were a millipede also known as "wandering leg sausage", a blue tarantula found in Brazil, and a monkey found in Myanmar that sneezes when it rains.

These animals got on the Top 10 list of new species. The millipede was in 8th place, the tarantula got in 10th, and the monkey got in 1st place.

The first species is a giant millipede. It has 56 rings, with each ring having 2 legs. It is an amazing 6.3 inches long, the longest of any millipede known. That's the size of a sausage!

The second species is a snub-nosed monkey that, oddly, sneezes whenever it rains. It is white-bearded and has black fur. It is believed to be critically endangered. That's a shame, I was wishing to see one of these in the mountains where it was found.
Found in Myanmar, this monkey sneezes when it rains
The third species is the Sazima's turantula. It is a breathtaking sight to see as it is blue almost all over. It was originally found in the flattop mountains in Brazil. I think that this arachnid is pretty cool to look at.

Giant Turtle!

By:Bryce Yeager, Riley Ryan, Timothy Kwon.
Researchers found the remains of a 60 million year old fossilized turtle, the size of a smart car. Researchers say the turtle was the largest predator in its environment. and this turtle had powerful jaws that could eat anything it encountered such as, mollusks, smaller turtles, crocodiles, etc.

This turtle was found in  2005 in the mine in Colombia's Cerrejon formation by Edwin Cadena. The turtle's skull measures 24 centimeters and the shell is 5ft 7in long.

The Blobfish

The Mysterious Jellyfish

Riley Ryan, Timothy Kwon and Bryce Yeager
A brown blob that is seemingly covered in scales was spotted by an underwater drilling camera.
The "blob" is a Deepstaria Enigmatica that was seen as a brown thing that looked to have scales. It was found a t about 5045 ft deep. Steven Haddock, a scientist for The Monterrey Bay Aquarium, said that the "blob" is a jellyfish that is not actually very rare to see. But it is rare to see it intact.
The jellyfish had organs and appendages sticking out. This is very rare to see. Of course, this kind of thing happens every once in a while, right? Yes, it does. It seems that this time it was a jellyfish of epic blobbiness.
